In the Beginning...

Even though I don't leave for Korea until the 30th, I've realized in the last couple of days how real this is. I drove back from L.A. last night, with a fresh visa in my as-yet-unused passport. I've been seeing previews for movies that come out after I leave, and that I may never be able to see in the theater (I know, who cares, right? but if you've spent a lot of time with me, you'll know that I attend the movie theater religiously; literally, at least once a week, and that's not even including my netflix movies!). I've been attempting to clean out and box up my room, but the last few days I've just been staring at my book cases; suddenly, the 50lb limit of my checked baggage seems woefully inadequate...and I guess starting this blog right now is just another way to temporarily put off the inevitable.
I survived the interviews, the gathering, notarizing, and apostilling of all necessary documents, the drive from Chandler, AZ, to downtown L.A., and now I just have to wait till the morning of Sept. 30th, when the final leg of getting to Korea will begin. Hopefully I'll find out that my utter lack of any Korean isn't too overwhelmingly frustrating, and that I have some proficiency in teaching foreign, elementary-aged children English...I guess I'll find out...

*This blog will eventually be an everyday photo blog of my time in Korea; since that time technically hasn't begun, there aren't any pictures yet...I will take pictures everyday, but they may not be posted everyday until I get a reliable internet connection.
